Red stoneware mug with white glaze

This mug is hand thrown from a red stoneware clay (SRF from Aardvark Clay) and fired to cone 6 in an electric kiln. Glazing has always been a challenge with dark clay; however, I am extremely pleased with how this mug turned out. I bevelled the rim while the clay was leather hard, and the white glaze broke beautifully along all the edges. The color variation added another dimension to the overall look of the mug.
These mugs are dishwasher safe, but please take extra care as they are all handmade. Washing them by hand is the best option.
