Stoneware #5 Mug

The mug is hand thrown from a stoneware clay (Stoneware #5 from IMCO) and fired in a gas kiln to cone 10 (~2300F). Fired in reduction atmosphere, the clay body has a rich orang hue which creates a nice contrast with the white glaze. I also trimmed the rim slightly to create a smooth bevelled edge. Similarly to the Long Beach stoneware mug, the glaze was applied minimally to showcase the clay and the shape of the mug.
These mugs are dishwasher safe, but please take extra care as they are all handmade. Washing them by hand is the best option.
